If you people think I'm cynical, you should talk to my dad.

It took me about four games to figure out I wasn't ever going to be on Team Ellinger. It only took him two.

I'm glad to say that I'm not in that camp. πŸ‘

I did say give Ellinger a chance, especially when the team is winning.

But now....

FIRE ELLINGER!!!!

There's a part of me that admires Knowmoose for the optimisim. When you look around at teams in the league you can find all sorts of fans that seem to get caught up in the moment. Now that's fun but sometimes it can get to be a downer. There are fans that want to fire Colin Clarke. Apparently being in 1st place in the West isn't good enough. There are others that wanted Sarachan to go long ago. The same with Nicol and Kinnear. I wouldn't be suprised if some DC United fans last year were calling for Nowak to move on after they bombed out of the playoffs. Just as blind faith isn't a good thing, that kind of "blind pessimism" isn't either. Maybe this doesn't apply with getting behind Ellinger because the team won 4 in a row. But it's something to keep in mind when in a couple years Fraser or Kreis or Kamler is coaching the club, they're in 1st place, but they've lost in a 5 row. There are times for patience and keeping in mind the bigger picture. I just think in the case of Ellinger, the bigger picture is 13-33-10.

I have a season ticket, so Aerick can't be an exception because I'm also an optimist.

Prk-n-Ride, I appreciate your positive word. The thing that I can't seem to make clear is that I'm not an optimist. I'm a realist. I don't have a love affair with Ellinger. I believe that a coach for any expansion club deserve time. 2 full years is a short as I'll go. I think there are some point of success that Ellinger has achieved in the last 1.67 years.

I realize the guys in treading on thin ice, but the team is making headway yet. It's much better than last year at this time, isn't it? (Teach me otherwise IBIK.) I want him to succeed because if he succeeds it means the team succeeded and if it succeeds that means I'm cheering for a winning team.

I'm not an optimist. I really wouldn't put it that way at all. I'm one who wants to root for a winning team and I want it to be a good program for a long time so when, someday, God willing, I'll be back in the Utah valley sitting beside you cheering for a perennial champion.

But that's not what makes friends on this site. Fire Ellinger.

Ok, now I've figured out what really bothers me about this whole discussion.

GROW A PAIR AND DON"T WORRY IF PEOPLE DON'T LIKE YOU!!!!

So what if your opinion isn't popular. It's your opinion, stick with it. If you want Ellinger to be coach, great, back it up with concrete reasons why. But seriously dude, stick up for yourself.

Well I am! Give Ellinger a raise!

Tonight's game will bear me out. RSL by 2. Kreis scores at least one.

What can I say...it's great to be an RSL fan, today!
