I would be more concerned if this was a purchase of one of the more successful MLS teams. But, just about any way you cut it, the Metros have been an unmitigated disaster on the pitch, with their stadium, and with their inability to take advantage of the HUGE market they are in.
Right now the numbers being bandied about are 30mil for the team with another 20mil + for naming rights to the stadium...this is for a team that has been bleeding the rest of the owners dry to the tune of 5-7 million a year in losses. I think they should go for it. The big question is whether AEG has to share the 30mil with the owners who have been sharing their losses all these years. PRK, I see your concern and your point...but face it...is it really possible to mess up the Metros worse than they are now? | |||||

Ya know, there's a eason I should think about things more before I open my mouth. THis is a classic case of it. I was focusing on the Red Bull side without really thinking about how AEG has been doing with the team. That the m-stars have been pretty crappy as a business on top of their play on the field is a very good point. Those were excellent points.
So was Lalas brought in because they needed to clean up the team a bit before selling it off? __________________

So according to that article... Red Bull is going to axe everybody including players.
Does this mean there will be a feeding frenzy over players? Gaven and Guevera have expressed desire to leave the big apple... what are thoughts on this? | |||||

When my mother was pregnant with me they did an ultrasound and found she was having twins. When they did another ultrasound a few weeks later they discovered that I had reabsorbed the other fetus.
