As Bill Lumburgh (sp?) would say: "umm...yeah...i'm going to have to go ahead and disagree with that" Freddy's got a chance. Not a big one (maybe 10%), but a chance. I'm not even sure that Cunningham is being seriously considered right now. I think that even WITHOUT a healthy EJ, you've still got Twellman, Ching, Noonan fighting for a spot on the team. Maybe even Rolfe. I don't see Cunningham making it.

Funny, switch the names and it still holds true. Cunningham isn't going to be happy in Salt Lake City. Quote:
No, better yet, Cunningham at The Jimmy in the USOC. He's on the field, really, he is for nearly 70 minutes. Tarley scores 4 and he isn't phased. Not cuz he's a cool cucumber (woo-hoo! Got to use that one finally!) who isn't rattled. Nope, at least from the stands it's as if he didn't even want to bother to play. He didn't try. The only thing he was consistanent at was not putting in an effort of getting off the pitch when he was subbed out. Careful folks, you're building Jeff "Where are the ladies cuz I want 3 tongiht" Cunningham into something he's not. __________________

If for no other reason than this Mathis=$410,000; Cunnigham=$225,651 this is a good trade.
We now have money ($184,349) to go after other good players. I enjoyed watchin Clint in an RSL uniform, but I am not to sad to see him go. __________________ Hurt in a Car Wreck call Robert J. DeBry Last edited by dysko : 12-12-2005 at 11:52 PM.

Man I miss a ton on this forum at night!
This was bound to happen. I realy liked Mathis, still do, but his production last year was unacceptable. Cunningham is showed good production as recently as last year. I have high hopes that our Jamiacan connection will give us even more speed this coming season. Does this mean that fellow Reggae Boy Scarlett is really staying? This ESPNnet snip stood out to me (but I am biased): He is expected to report into RSL's Training Camp on February 1, 2006, when the team begins its 2006 Preseason Training at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. Deuce, I'll look to get some pictures for you when Spring Training starts. 😉

The Trade from a Crapids perspective:

Well this makes the trade a little easier to swallow. From the Rocky Mountain News article:
"The latter reason means Real Salt Lake will pay a good portion of Mathis' salary while he's with the Rapids." When he scores on you to win the Rocky Mountain Cup, just remember that you're paying for it! 😉

Jason, you really need to work on the whole "knowing you audience".
This isn't the CRapids forum (oh year thats right, you don't have one besides the free one at BS). THIS IS NOT GOOD NEWS FOR RSL. RSL is still paying for Mathis's bloated salary. Well, at least we got 12 goals for 3. And Cunningham scored 12 because of those around him? Like who, Beckerman?

Don't get me wrong... I like Mathis as a person, I have spoken to him several times and he is one of the nicest guys you will meet in pro sports. But his production last season was dismal. I hope for his sake that he has a better season next year. But not against RSL.
