Friday night was the Brazilian goal scoring magician Romario's league debut for Miami. Everyone was expecting something to happen. Nothing did for him. His team was flogged 0-3 by Rochester, and after the game the guy with the massive ego proved just how out of tune the rest of the world is with the game in America. Here is his big quote from the Miami Herald: "To be honest, I wasn't expecting the opposition to be of such a high level."

What a bunch of bull. The guy practices for 1 week with a brand new team and they take on one of the best teams in the USL...and he has a ego problem?

Seriously, the guy is the second highest scorer in WORLD SOCCER HISTORY, has won World Cups and was just loaned out from a top Brazilian club. I think he is not going out on a limb by saying that he was surprised by the opposition. How many American teams do you think he has played?

Lame post Arelius. I am disappointed in you. I really hope that you just copy/pasted that post from someone else, and it isn't your own opinions. If so, then I apologize in advance. But man, why post it?

By the way, real cool to say a guy has a ego problem when the only reason he came to the USL is because his youngest daughter has autism and Miami provided better doctors and schools for him.

RANT OVER! 🙄

I'm posting what I found at DuNord. I figured he knew what he was talking about.

Anyways, the interesting part of the post for me was the quote from the Miami Herald.

After just 3 home games it's pretty clear that Romario is not going to draw crowds the way his team, Miami FC, thought he would. Their match last night only drew 1,852.

Its mostly because as much as they try, this is a typical minor league team in a major league town.
I went to the first match and I can tell this a minor league team thinking big.

If they upgrade the facility and stick it out, they might make it in a few years. No way it draws like Rochester for awhile.
