He missed his fourth day in a row with the club, so it looks pretty certain that he is done at Vasco. But where he goes is all speculation. There is also a rumor spreading around that Romario's agent said something like "He loves Miami, but the money is not good enough."

Probably best for Miami FC if he doesn't go there. He's old and spoiled.

I was in Brazil during the '94 world cup, and if I was anywhere near Miami I would gladly shell out a few bucks to see him play. I don't care how old he is.

Romário (also known as "Baixinho" [shorty]) is the 2nd highest scorer in the history of professional football, being surpassed only by Pelé. He only needs 36 more goals to break 1,000 career goals. The director of Vasco da Gama said yesterday that if he scores 35 here in the U.S. then he will be shipped back to Brazil so he can break 1,000 there in Brazil.

He was named FIFA World Player of the Year in 1994.

Last season, at nearly 40 years of age, Romário was the league's top goalscorer with 22 goals in the Brazilian Championship.
