Alejandro Salazar

Released by Australian team, wants to play in MLS.
Do we want him?
A lot of fluff about him last year...

Hmmm...gonna say no on that.
But he was a highly recruited college player last year.
He was part of the Unv. of Portland team that might win the championship this year.

A couple players that would be nice to have around :

Jason Jordan - He'd be an SI but he's got experience and can make an immediate impact. He lead the a-league in scoring last year. I think he was linked with San Jose at one point but I don't know how serious they were.
With Tarley missing sitters left and right and Watson not being a proven player in the MLS (easy there folks, I mean showing that game in, game out he can play for 90 and produce goals) , Kries coming off yet another very serious knee injury, Cila being something (trade bait, a smurf, somethign) and Dante retiring it would be nice to bring in someone else who can play up top.

Ross Paule :: He's an MLS vet that's put up some decent numbers for being a good but not great 2-way mid. He's coming off an injury so there may be a risk there. Sure Sigi is looking to mold the team in his image and letting Paule go would help Sigi do that.

Matt Delicate :: Richmond's dropping down a division so he may be a free agent. He's Welsh but played college ball in yankland. He's a tall guy, 6' 4" and he scored something like 8 goals and had 6 asssits for the Kickers. Especially considering he's young and doesn't look to be an SI, it's be nice to see if the kid can cut it in the MLS. COuld be a cheap find; could be a stinker.

Ned Grabavoy :: More midfield help for RSL. He's looked good in the his first 2 years in the league. Sampson brought in Pando this year and it wasn't until even Pando's grandma was calling for Pando to get bench that Ned got in some good playing time. And he looked good down the stretch. But so far Sampson and Pando are still around. Seems like Ned's going to want to move to get some playing time.

Didnt know if you knew this, but Deli was in training camp with FC Dallas. I think they're deciding on who they're going to go with tomorrow, but I am not sure.

I believe he did. I caught the last part of an interview with him on the FoxSoccer Channel and it sounded like he has retired.

Paule is retired, but I have to agree that if RSL can get Ned Grabavoy it would be a steal.
I also think Delicate could be good, but with him flirting with other teams, RSL might have to get in line.

Ross Paule retired ?!??!???

* looks at Crew roster *

Damn, he's not on the roster. I shoudl've looked before I spoke. Well, I supoose he's not much of an option.

JoJoJayme0018 + soccerprime, Thanks for the scoop on Delicate, too. If teams are looking at him I at least have the solace that I wasn't out of my mind. Well, at least not on that idea. 🙂
