My guess is that we can recruit men from within the ranks and women from within the friends of the ranks. I bet my voice teacher would join us. She's a very good sport. She has sung professionally in the past and her husband is still with the Utah Opera. I also have a friend in the MoTab choir, but she might be too busy with that stuff?

I think that there are enough people that can sing in the supporters group that we don't need to recruit anyone else. I think we should limit this to people who have actually stood and cheered with us at RSL games.

I can understand the reasoning behind that. If that's what people want, then it should probably either be just a quartet or only men because you'll have a hard time finding enough women. So far we have volunteering... me. And Hiba is "thinking about this."

So if you guys wanted to make it men only that would be fine with me. Whatever people decide. If we get approval.

My opinion is that this would be the most powerful if it was a group comprised of 4-8 hard-core supporters with decent voices, singing in unison. I'm sure a lot of us have musical backgrounds or whatever, but I say leave the 4-part harmonies to the professionals. Of course, we have what -- 8 months to discuss this?

obviously you haven't been around us while we're singing the nat'l anthem bordy...

bardguy, myself, and aero already have the harmony down and we sound pretty clean doing it as well.

(if i left out a name of someone adding to the harmony, i'm sorry)

Bordy has a point. It would sound awesome if we did it in unison, and someone posted earlier about getting the whole east side in on it. Getting the whole stadium in on singing the national anthem? That's what I'm talking about.

There are a few of us behind you as well. I know UteAnimal has been involved and some other guy I don't know.

There are very few more powerful sounds than a mens chorus or ensemble singing in harmony.

I'm thinking a double men's quartet here. I can sing anything but bass, but tenor would probably be best.

I've heard you...you do sound good. My point was more that singers who sing for a career come and sing the national anthem in harmony, or as a "show piece". Our "career" is being fans. It's just my opinion that singing in unison would be more...appropriate, I guess. Just my opinion, though. I think it will probably end up sounding good either way.

A double quartet has 2 people singing each part of a 4 part harmony. An octet would have 8 people each singing their own part in an 8 part harmony. Now you know...
