Why do I have the impression that Watson takes flack from teammates everytime he shoots? I kinda like someone to shoot from the top of the box.

I wish we could get more off freekicks. The keeper was never really forced to do much on them.

We almost got another goal off a corner! I know DC went about 500 corner kicks between goals once. I hope that keeper has a mark on his chest from that one. The ball certainly found him on that one.

At least I'll be able to see RSL's first road win live next weekend. (if they don't win 10/1 I may have to sell a kidney to get to SJ)

If you ever watch the other players when Watson takes a shot, they are fussing because he didn't pass it to them even when they are at midfield. The veteran players can not stand a rookie to take shots or make goals because it makes them bad and they have to work harder. In the Colorado game, how many times did you see Watson open across field and no one would pass the ball. It seems to me that if a player is open and unmarked, pass the ball, hope for the goal. IMO, the veteran players (not all of them and they know who they are), need to grow up and play like a team and not a one man team. Perhaps playing as a team could actually win games.

I'd expect that kind of stuff from a Chivas player, but I didn't think that it would come from a Crapids player. I guess we know better now.

I disagree. A player pulling up limp is no reason to put the ball out just like that. The rules of the game don't require it and even the unwritten rules of sportsmanshiop don't at that point.

I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree then. I certainly don't think that the unwritten rules really allow someone to run right by someone that has come up limping on their way to a fast-break that wouldn't have happened if the player hadn't come up limping. The whole reason the unwritten rules exist is so that one team doesn't get an advantage because the other team has an injured player. He totally took advantage of an injured player to gain an advantage. I thought it was low class. If you didn't, I guess that is your right.

The fourth official had raised his hand to stop play and it would have been appropriate of the ref to blow, but since he didn't I thought it was more his mistake than Cooke. I think it was a little classless but it wasn't like Andy went down with an injury due to a tackle, it was just a cramp. So I guess I don't hold it against Cooke, although I was and am a little unimpressed by it and certainly thought since the 4th official thought the whislte should have blown that the ref should have followed that council.

I agree. I think, over all, the refs ignore their "Assistant Refs" way too much. The whole point is that the refs can't see everything or judge everything. If the Assistant raises his flag, he must have seen something!

But then our refs are not apparently interested in fairness. They're obviously OUT TO GET US! 😲 So what can we expect?

Sorry for the late reply, but I was finishing the trip that took me to Denver for the game.

From my perspective in the stands it was not obvious that your player was injured, it looked like a bad pass. Seeing on TV later that night made it more obvious.

Even so, he wasn't down on the field right away, which is the general signal for a player who needs medical attention. That's what playing the ball out when a player is injured is for, so that they can get needed medical attention. If you're on your feet you have to be considered still in the game, otherwise "faking" an injury to disrupt an opponents attack would be too easy. It appears he's starting to go to the turf after Cooke goes by him with the ball, but at that point how is Cooke supposed to know that he's down?

This is MUCH different from Romo's behavior both against the Rapids and RSL, and anyone comparing the two is really doing a dis-service to the Rapids and Terry Cooke.

Whatever. Cooke's a hack and a dirty player and you know it.
