By the way, Option #2 is leading by a wide margin.
So those of you who thought by even talking about firing Ellinger was taboo should rest easier tonight. I am sure Pastorino is reading this right now and taking notes. On BS however, I am 100% sure the results would be quite different.

It appears that my only crime here was to question your omnipetence. Please forgive me... oh wise one... Can you please enlighten the huddled masses as to what we should all do to make our RSL better. Please! Please! I am nearly wetting myself with anticipation.

I believe the point was that the options were limiting in and of themselves. __________________

I disagree that "we're an expansion team and we're supposed to be bad" to an extent. Look at the players on the team -- even before the season started most of us agreed that the roster looked more like a veteran team than an expansion team.
Even so, I think most of us also expected that there would be some growing pains. Teams take time to come together, to work as a team. That's where coaching comes in. However, I have seen zero improvement in this aspect since game 1. Some reasons: - lineup changes. Not entirely the fault of coaching, but I personally feel there has been way too much tinkering with the lineup. Seems to me that players are often asked to take on a new role when it's really not all that necessary. Killing our chemistry. - motivation. There seems to be none. Somehow the coaching staff needs to instill a sesne of urgency into the players for each and every game, and it's not happening at all. Now, I'm not a coach -- I've never coached soccer, and it's usually pretty easy to be a fan and to criticize. I think it would be unfair to boot Ellinger right now, but I think (I hope) that things will be a little more settled next year and we'll be able to get a better feel as to the role that Ellinger plays in the team's success. If, midway through next season, we still look disorganized on defense, unmotivated in the midfield, can't complete passes, and are losing 5-1 in games that we shouldn't have lost by more than a goal, then I think it's time to take a hard look at the coaching and start to explore some options.

Not all coaches can win with talent, but all coaches lose without it. We may be seeing the effort level of some of our players and understanding why they were made available by their former teams.
Usually the only lever a coach has is playing time, but if the player is by far the best option at his position, they usually know they are going to play anyway. As far as the offside trap, I would hope that chemistry from continuity will help take care of that in the future. __________________

The main beef I have with this poll is that it's public instead of private, meaning that people can see what you have voted for. As many of us know, members of the team, the Checkett's, Steve P and perhaps coaches visit this site from time to time. Even if I did feel it was time for Ellinger to go, I doubt I would have voted that way in a public poll. Perhaps I care too much about what others think, but I wouldn't want my name attributed with the "Yes" votes and then have players/coaches/staff who are loyal to Coach E see it, and then put me on a black list of sorts. __________________
