Streamers vs. Confetti?

I think I should throw all my heart and desire into yelling insults at the opposing team and cheering for RSL and that's the only thing I should throw onto the pitch.

After the recent discussions, I'm thinking confetti may be more appropriate - though not quite as fun or as nice looking. :P

At first I voted streamers. 🤓

But then I thouhg tof Bob Gansler in the Wizards game saying the streamers were dangerous. It is sort of true, players kept tripping over the streamers. So I actually decided confetti would be better, for the player's safety. It kind of makes me sound like a nerd, doesn't it? 🤓

I know I'm in the minority here, but I still haven't given up on the streamers.

I hope we can find a way to make it work safely.

I like the streamers. I actually do both, streamers and confetti; it's a nice effect.

BTW: Are there any other teams who do the streamers on a regular basis? And if there are, do they seem to be having the problems we are?

Streamers...

Why should we let one or two stupid people ruin the fun. There will always be stupid people. We just need to be jerks and turn in people who throw anything that isn't a streamer. Self policing is what we need to do, not stop doing what we enjoy doing to support our team.

Yes, but streamers are starting to create problems too. Players tripping over them is not good. Maybe we could have the FO hand them out but not let anybody bring their own in because the FO's are just short enough that they unroll ALL the way???

The ones that the FO are handing out are the same size that most people are bringing.

I never had strong feelings about this and I can't say I'm wound up about it now but I just don't get the fascination with streamers. I've read the comments in various threads about it and clearly a lot of fans like them for the visual effect and the crowd participation thing, but they do nothing much for me personally.

If something needs to be thrown up in the air, I'd go for confetti. But I'm not all that into that either. For visuals, I prefer stuff that stays in the crowd and can be reused, like banners, flags, or those college-like card sections you see in Italy.

Maybe it's because way back in my college days I worked at a stadium, but anything that goes on the field or requires a major cleanup in the stands just isn't what I want to see. That goes extra for flares or other props that foul up the air.

So for me personally--and I understand others will have a different view--I'd prefer to stay away from streamers and confetti.
