At the reserve match that Gregorio and Scarlett played in they seemed to really work well together. Almost as if they had played together for quite sometime. The left (edited) side attack was really strong and they both seemed to read each other, comunicated extremely well and created some very sweet opportunities...
Gregorio was moved to the right (edited) in the second half and the left side chemistry seemed lacking after that. I really don't think that Scarlett will get the starting nod right off the bat... maybe he will be a sub early in the 2nd half. If Scarlett does start I would expect to see Gregorio start as well or an early sub to create some type of Scarlett/Gregorio combination. Last edited by Deuce : 08-15-2005 at 01:27 PM.

Scarlett is a left-sided player though, right Deuce?

Too bad they were unable finish, for whatever reason... Edited my last post cos apparently I need to draw a little "L" on my left hand and an "R" on my right cos I sat here thinking about the left side attck and still got it backwards in my last post... Oh well! doo-doo occurs! Last edited by Deuce : 08-15-2005 at 01:34 PM.

Why do you say that Cutler hasn't been playing well? I didn't see the NE game, but I thought he did well last Saturday. He played good possession ball, IMO, with perhaps a tendency to play the back-pass a little too often, but still I thought he was instrumental in any build-ups that we had. He hustled well and won balls on tackles, as well.

That is probably true, but I think he has certainly been adequate and seems to be improving. I mean our defense hasn't exactly played well recently either. I think that Kenny is meeting expectations. He probably isn't exceeding them, but I don't see him losing his starting spot anytime soon. The new guys we are bringing in play on the wings. It is a very different thing to play in the middle as opposed to the wing. Just ask Rusty about that one... If we can bring in a solid defensive midfielder then I have no problem with Kenny taking a seat. I just don't see that happening b/c good defensive midfielders are hard to get. A good defensive midfielder can really make a difference...just ask Real Madrid what kind of difference Makele made. If two players are mostly equal in talent I would rather see a younger player starting and getting playing time over the veteran. I like to see the team developing young talent. It bodes well for the future. I say keep playing Kenny. He is doing well enough. Edit: To fix spelling and strengthen an argument. Last edited by devNull : 08-15-2005 at 02:34 PM.

I think the concert is a means of allowing the players to leave in peace without being mobbed. You know, distraction technique.
