You don't have anything to worry about, but others do.

Namely.

Gray from San Jose (for his lame stalling right in front of my seat last night).

Chivas (for obvious reasons)

The Kansas City keeper (for headbutting Jamie Watson after the game in KC)

I'm not sure whether to take offense with all of the male chauvinism, or whether to ask you all over for knitting, Pilates, and a Gilmore Girls marathon. 😲

Please, no, anything but a Gilmore Girls marathon.

Manly, bubbles, no mess.

And, the fire would take care of the cleanup of streamers and confetti while we're at it. It's a win-win for all of us!

I think some of you guys are maybe a little insecure in your manlyness! Scholsey and I are not threatened by this idea.

A few bubbles floating across the field...kids, girls.

A massive amount of bubbles floating across the field...impressive celebration without the safety/clean up issues.

I don't think it would look "girlie", and if it did, I wouldn't care. I know I'm not, and I don't care about anyone else. But to make them impressive, as I think MontGJules and TayTay and Scholsey are envisioning, it would take either EVERYONE blowing bubbles, or a bubble machine.

I don't have anything against confetti. I don't think there would be a safety issue. But there would be a cleanup issue and I for one can't afford to pay extra for cleanup. That's why I don't go to Iggy's anymore, too. I spent everything I could afford on the season tickets.

See ... it's not just me people, there are other blokes out there who think it would look cool. :signrocko

Wasn't it a swift punch and a lunge? They replayed it on the Kansas City jumbotron over and over and over again, they fans thought it was soooo cool. It really pissed me off and then for the league to do nothing about it .... oh my gosh that just chapped my lips right there in summer. It helps me feel even less respect for the league and it's blind side.

I am quite comfortable with my manliness... what ever the hell that means...

Just because I think something would look gay does NOT mean that I harbour some kind of ingrained fear of being a nancy boy or that I am in some way uncomfortable with showing a side other than hardcore masculine.

It just means I think bubbles would look gay... really quite simple honest... no hidden meanings or pent up insecurity or fear or anything else... I just think bubbles would look gay.

Imagine that!

Didn't you know that calling something "gay" is a compliment, Deuce?

For example, gay men don't elicit eww-eww-eww twitchy responses at Iggy's. πŸ˜†

I'm more concerned with how others would perceive the sport and, in particular, Real Salt Lake. If you didn't notice, the hardcore sports guys at 1280 have thought that the streamers were totally "namby pamby". Bubbles would literally push them over the edge.

And yes, I DO care what others think of us, RSL and the sport in general here in the U.S.. If we push people away, we doom the sport to failure.

No bubbles. Or, if we HAVE to do bubbles, only kids - and hopefully not too many. :P
