Is the FO calling ticket buyers trying to sell more?

One of my friends who despite my urgings has only made it to two games mentioned to me today that he and one of his friends have recently received calls from the FO offering tickets to tomorrow's game as well as discounted tickets for the rest of the season. Is the FO actually to the point of calling people to solicit sales? I guess this may result in some additional ticket sales, but I would say it is probably just annoying. I know that my friend was mildly annoyed and I know that I would be as well. Has anyone else heard about this going on? I was a bit disappointed to hear this. I really don't like phone solicitation.

Also during this dicussion my friend mentioned he would love to go to more games...on a student discounted tickets. The last I heard it was a big fat NO on the student discount for tickets. Has anyone heard differently? I think it would be a nice gesture to the students at the U if RSL offered a student discount to a few games while school is in session.

I think it might be cool if they had a student night or something where anyone with a student ID could get discounted tickets but they definitely shouldn't do it just for UofU students. The University certainly isn't cutting RSL any breaks and unless they want to kick in some of their student fees to subsidize it, forget it.

I agree. Students at the U shouldn't get any discounts on tickets unless their fees help pay for the team. I would not be opposed to students getting occasional discounts, but it should include high school kids as well.

The U is already screwing us for the use of RES, the students shouldn't be allowed to as well.

This was discussed before, and I still feel the same way. Here is the thread.

I agree with you other guys. If they want to have a student day, offer it to ALL students with and ID, not just UofU students.

I thought it sounded familiar.

Sorry for bringing up a touchy subject. Forget I even mentioned it. The feeling at the of the people I talk to at the U is that RSL is imposing on the students a bit and it would be a nice gesture by RSL to pony up some discount tickets. Apparently that opinion isn't shared by those not at the U and probably even a few at the U. I will forget the idea and move on. Sorry again for bringing it up.

I was actually more concerned about the somewhat unsolicited phone calls by the RSL sales team. Has anyone heard anything about this?

That is why I stated that last I heard it was a NO and wanted to know if anything had changed. I guess I should have cited that post to avoid stirring the pot again. My bad.

I believe they are only calling people that have purchased tickets, but I could be completely wrong.

I am curious, how do those students fell that RSL is imposing on them?

I haven't heard of the FO calling to sell tickets. Of course, maybe because the supporters groups didn't come through as planned, and because the game is going to be televised on ESPN, and because it's going to be hot, they are trying to sell as many tickets as they can and/or sell more tickets than have curently been sold.
