I think you all know about the special ticket discount this weekend. We aren't doing very well at selling tickets... RCB has sold approximately the same number we have. The Leading group in the league wide contest right now is The Wizards (yeah that team that can't draw enough fans to keep their team from moving) and DC United still hasn't had their game.

So let me layout what is on the line:

1) ESPN will be there... we don't want to look bad. Afterall, we were named #1 fans in the league.
2) The group that does the best will featured in next years MLS ads.
3) A party thrown for us by MLS.
4) Autographed All-Star gear to be given to a lucky Loyalist.
5) Bragging rights
6) Can anyone say 5-1, how about some revenge.

I know some of you have been working hard, but we need everyone to step up. I just sent an e-mail to everyone in my address book to invite them to the game. I am also going to by 5 tickets in good faith that I can round up five additional people to attend the game. If we could all get 5 tickets on faith that we can find 5 people who would like to see a soccer game that would go a long way.

Of course, only you can determine what you can do. But we need to get this thing done.

MIght I add my .02$ here as well.

If they don't have paypal, get the money. If they don't feel confident giving you the $$ they either don't trust you, or they wouldn't go anyway...Don't risk your own funds on the tickets.

Everyone that got a ticket through me....i got money right then. i didn't even know half the people. ask everyone...neighbors (four of mine), internet chat room friends (12 of mine), co workers (3 of mine).

I post this because we need to step it up, ALL OF US NEED TO STEP IT UP. Major kudos given to Aerick, i think he's at 22 or more.

set a goal that might be tough but is realistic. If we sell 5 more tickets each (that includes you and I aerick) with how many loyalists there are, that should be 500 tix.

you have 1 day to get 5 people.

some ideas:
stress that it's half off! HALF FREAKING OFF! that's kind of a bonus.

soccer is so much fun to watch in person, i'll even let you use my drum/cowbell/or whatever.

what else are you doing on a saturday afternoon at 4.

It's a two hour match, you'll be home in time to do something else.

Did i mention it was half off! and you'll sit with the best fans.

Don't forget to mention the free lunch they get at the tailgate. How can anyone beat lunch and a great soccer game for $13. That's less than a movie ticket, popcorn, and a drink.

FYI, I think I may be up to 25 or 26 after today or tomorrow. I may just end up buying the extra tickets "on good faith" as Dysko mentions above. Hellooooo Credit Card...

Okay, okay, okay... the guilt is setting in. Of all people, I should be able to do this.

I just broke my non-spam policy and emailed all my friends telling them about this. I hope I get a couple responses.
