Problem: I think that Dave/Glenn take the money from Paypal and then purchase all the necessary tickets BEFORE the game and pass them out accordingly. I don't believe they've been given all 750 tickets up front to sell. So, essentially, the FO has given the Loyalists the OPTION to buy tickets at $13 a piece, rather than giving us 750 tickets to sell at $13 a piece. Which makes sense, to a degree, because a) they couldn't really track how many we actually sold, because/and b) we may decide to try and turn a profit on the tickets.
If the above ISN'T true, then I would suggest putting up a couple of placards on the grass near the tailgate that say something like this: "Tons of Half-Price Tickets" with an arrow pointing to the tailgate. __________________

So if it's such a bargain, why am I not sensing more of a push from them? Maybe I'm just not "in the loop" enough to notice if they are, but it just doesn't seem to be a priority.

Well, if it is a big priority with them, then there's a communication breakdown somewhere, because until I started reading these posts yesterday and today, I never really felt that this was much more than a fun girl-scout-cookie-selling-type contest where the winner gets a sticker on their forehead and then everyone forgets about it by the next day. As far as I was concerned, winning or being well-represented in this contest was about as important as showing well in the latest mlsnet.com "Which team rules the most?" poll-stuffing affair. I'm not sure I want to point fingers or hurt feelings (although I'm generally not opposed to either of those activities), especially since my own ignorance might be partly to blame, but I think that if the FO has felt from the beginning that this is a big deal (and we've known about this contest thing for what, half a year?) then that sentiment should have been more quickly and more efficiently communicated to me, as a supporter. If I'm going to be expected to act as a proxy RSL employee via the selling of their product, then I'm going to want to feel like I have a great reason to do so. Anyway, I'll shut up now and continue inviting people to the game, but I'm only going to do so with 9/10ths of a smile on my face.

Which brings me to a point. Perhaps we can have some sort of prize for the person who sells the most tickets - some sort of RSL gear, or a date with DJ or something. 😉 RCB did something similar by offering a RSL hat to the person who sold the most tickets. Maybe it's too late for this go around, but may be a great idea for the next go around.... if there's another go around after this debacle... __________________

I'm thinking we just need to relax here. I know of at least two people who waited to put in orders until they knew how many they were selling. We still have a couple of days.
Everyone step back from the ledge and take a deep breath. __________________

So I was right in my initial assumption that this ISN'T a big deal and that there's nothing to worry about?
