Aug 6: whatcha bringing to the tailgate?

Okay, so I am super crazy for organized stuff and since I didn't see a thread on this, thought I would start one (it's my first, so be nice to me!)

Since we are planning on having a lot of people to the tailgate, has it been decided what "extra" stuff we can all bring? I think it would be quite embarrassing 😳 to advertise a free meal and have us run out of food.

It sounds like a lot of us are having guests come for the first time (my boss included) and I would love for us to make this a great event that they will want to come back to again and again!

I am not sure what is provided by the Loyalists, so if I can be filled in on that, then we can "volunteer/assign" food items for the rest of us to bring, sound good? I don't mind tracking this so we don't get too much salads and not enough desserts etc.

👍

Deuce: I wave my magic wand and I see that you are assigned to bring a platter of mixed, expensive cheeses and nuts from all around the world...

or I guess chips and dip will work

LOL :punk:
Thanks!

I don't think Holly is trying to take over... at least I don't think she is...
HOLLY? ARE YOU TRYING TO TAKE OVER?

I think she is trying to organize the pot luck... and see who is bringing what... so ppl know what is being brought so if they want to bring something... they know what NOT to bring if it is already being brought by someone else....

I'm actually doing it this week, but my wife is out so I'm watching my kids and working from home at the same time. Any help is appreciated, especially I figured the salads, desserts and such were just people being nice and not actually part of the organization. Going forward, organizing this may be a good thing to include in the weekly tailgate planning.

For the record, I'm in Chicago next week so I will not be able to do the tailgate.

You mean this isn't a plot by Mrs.Aero to take over the WORLD!??!

Actually, I thought it would be helpful to make sure the person in charge of the tailgate benefitted from this discussion.
You know, being organized and efficient and stuff.
