But I've been contacting my friends with the offer.
It shouldn't be hard to sell a product you're passionate about - especially to friends and family. I wear my love for soccer on my sleeve, and everyone here at work knows I'm a "soccer dork", but I was still able to sell 6 tickets to co-workers that have never been. 🙂

OK...this has driven me nuts ALL FLIPPING MORNING....I do NOT want the best fans in MLS to be the most embarrassed fans in MLS....

another last ditch effort......what about going to ALL the local soccer/sports shops (eg. Teamgear, although I hope they already have some) and asking them to post/hand out fliers. I have some of the fliers and can email them to anyone who wants to help.

I've posted the flyer at the University Medical Center, Primary Children's, and ARUP, and given it to everyone I work with, but the problem I hear most often is that they don't want the 'hassle' of using paypal. Only four have accepted my offer of buying it for them. I think I could have sold a lot more if I had tickets in hand to sell. I know - hindsight....

Personally, I think if anyone is to "blame" for this its the FO.
Now wait a second before you get defensive...
I am not sure the FO is even putting pressure on the Loyalists and the rest of the RSL fans to sell all the tickets. This might be self-induced guilt syndrome or something.

Truly, I did not even know we were supposed to be selling these tickets until Glenn forwarded me the flyers to put on the website. Before that, I had no clue what was going on. And that was 2 weeks ago. Not much time for volunteers to sell 750 tickets.

I think one other thing that we can do to sell tickets is to stand by the ticket windows on Saturday and sell them to all the walk-ups. I bet we could sell a bunch that way. We could do it in shifts so that everyone takes a turn for a few minutes. Who wouldn't want to pay $13 for a ticket in a better area than they can even by a $14 ticket for?

LMB suggested that earlier... will the FO have a problem with us doing that?
I will take a short shift working the walkups if it is OK....

Good idea, but is that possible? Not to mention that $13 seats are a good deal, plus don't forget the free tailgate BBQ!

I don't see why it wouldn't be possible. It isn't illegal to buy and sell tickets in Utah. There are plenty of people doing it already. We would just be some more people doing that with a better deal.

As for the FO, I'm not sure that they would really care, but they might. I actually think that they would love us to be named the best fans because that might be better pub for them than the few $$$ they would lose by having them buy the tickets from us. Although, I guess it wouldn't hurt to ask them what they think about it.

This may be a dumb question, but what motivation would the FO have for selling $13 tickets at the gate to people who are already there with the intention of buying more expensive tickets? I think it's a great idea as far as helping to meet the ticket-selling goal, but I'm not sure the FO would be all that excited about basically handing money out...

Sounds like an excellent idea,
but my question is , Are we going to have tickets accessible on hand, so that we could actually sell them on game day to people? Or are tickets not sold through the Loyalists going to have to be returned to the office before game day??
