We complain about the announcer in our games and the Big Board saying "Make Noise", but we don't have anything like that! It was awful. It was distracting and juvenile, and just stupid! It's totally unrelated to the game.

As for the game, I was impressed. Yes we lost. But we looked like we belonged in the league. The goal by Brownie, that equalized that first discouraging goal, was outstanding and exciting and put us right back into the game. The boys showed that they really can play in this league.

If it hadn't been for an Own Goal, it would have been a tie. And I forgive D.J. for that one, he is still having way too much work to do. Man, I was worried when he was laying on the ground, holding his shoulder. Thought he had re-injured his shoulder.

Over all, they played better than I've seen for a long time. If we could just work out the kinks in the defense, we would really have a great team!

---Edit---

Let me rephrase that. We HAVE a great team! But if we fix that leaky defense we will have a great, WINNING team!

Mango can back me up on this--they play those effects ALL GAME LONG.

Did you hear chanting? That's because they mike the "Cauldron" and play their chants over the PA. It's the only way you'd hear them on TV. In the stadium you can hear them well because, except for the sound effects, it's like a library.

Hard to find a worse game atmosphere in MLS. They need to get out of Arrowhead as soon as possible.

yea, sound effects were HORRIBLE! even my wife who wasnt really watching the game, just hanging out in the same room was commenting about how annoying they were. they need to hide the 'football' sound effects CD's when the soccer games come to town

I've been thinking of suggesting that they do the same for us. Mike the Stronghold (preemptively using my prefered name), that is. I think that in RES, with our crowds, it might actually help them to catch on.

What do you think?

There's better ways to do it than that. Wait 'til after the meeting, we'll be getting some stuff goin' on!

Isn't this roughly akin to saying
"Other than the iceberg incident, the Titanic's maiden voyage was a smashing success" (no pun intended)

I'm not giving up but . . . . .
Please Oh Please Oh Please Oh Please Oh Please Oh Please Oh Please Oh Please Oh Please Oh Please Oh Please Oh Please Oh Please Oh Please Oh Please Oh Please Oh Please Oh Please Oh Please Oh Please Oh Please Oh Please Oh Please let Eddie and Rusty come back soon.
