Guatemala-Jamaica Game Thread [R] aka Cabrera Watch plus RSA-MEX [R]

Twenty minutes until Guatemala takes on Jamaica in the Gold Cup on Galavision. Since we "might" sign the Guatemalan defender, Gustavo Cabrera, this will be a chance to see him take on Andy Williams and the Reggae Boyz.

In other Gold Cup news, Hurrican Dennis has forced a schedule change for Group A in the Orange Bowl. The games 2-3 will be played a day later in each case. The teams affected are Honduras, Colombia, T&T, and Panama.

And don't look now, but 70 minutes in at the HDC, South Africa is beating Mexico 2-0.

Guatemala -Jamaica underway.

Williams is playing right mid in what's listed as a 5-3-2.

Cabrera is playing right back in a 3-5-2.

Jamaica scores early (3rd minute) but not through Cabrera.

And a defensive breakdown/keeper flub gives the Jamaicans an easy goal in the 5th minute. The keeper screened Cabrera, who would have cleared the ball.

2-0 Jamaica and the Mexican fans aren't even in the parking lot yet.

And a direct red drops Jamaica to 10 men. Claude Davis slapped Ruiz on the back of the head in a less than friendly manner after they collided and hit the deck.

The ref? Brian Hall.

Don't worry, you're not alone, Rover.

Good old Mexico, trying to pass the ball into the goal. But on the other hand, the last time I saw Mexico run into a streak of bad luck like they had tonight was when the US visited the Azteca in '97.

You can tell which one is Cabrera?

Guatemala's numbers are hard to read or at least they are to me.

I just got here too. I actually logged in to post the same information, but you beat me to it.

Just as well, I have no idea what they're saying.

He's playing primarily on the left now. He's #6, but I can't read the numbers either. I can pick him out by his height (he's their tallest field player, or so it seems) and his Maldini hair.

He's also a target player on their corners.
