I hope I don't sound too much like a downer, but for those of us bringing kids, it may be difficult enough to keep them engaged at a restaurant for the normal 2 hours for the game, let alone 3 for a pre-meeting. I'm not convinced we need a full hour. Somebody convince me. What are we planning on talking about? I was under the impression that we weren't going to, or couldn't, move on actual organizational changes - or even nominations at this point, but rather discussing agenda items to propose to leadership for an approval of an actual discussion of those same topics. Much like citizens getting together a petition of items to be submitted to lawmakers to either put something on a ballot or to promote discussion by the lawmakers. If that's correct, and we've already submitted and discussed many of these items here on the forum, do we need another hour to discuss them further?

I think it all depends on whether we can drag Glenn out to the meeting or not. | |||||

My perception of how this will/should transpire is as follows: We read off everyone's ideas. Then we discuss what types of organizational changes would best accommodate what we'd like to see happen as a whole (positions, committees, etc.). Then we should discuss, based on the ideas, and the organizational path we've decided upon, what positions or committees or whatever should be created to accommodate the ideas. The only time-intense portions, potentially, would be the method of organization and what forms should be implemented to handle the ideas. If everyone agrees on the form of organization quickly (which I predict will be the case), then we are left with only discussing what structures need to exist to handle the the ideas we have. The thing is that if the first two portions get handled quickly enough, and we aren't left with time for the last - it could be easily coupled with a Glenn-approved email to all paying Loyalists to introduce the proposed changes and to discuss the new structures to coincide with the ideas. That's why I think 30 minutes is enough time. Even if we don't get to the last part (which I think we will), it can easily be attached to the next segment of the process. Of course, this is just my idea of how this all should "go down", and perhaps the majority opinion is completely different on how this whole process should work. Whatever it is, I think it's IMPORTANT that we get to Iggy's with a clear strategy of what needs to transpire, otherwise it just becomes a willy-nilly free for all discussion, or we waste the majority of the time trying to figure out what should actually be discussed, and in what order. __________________
