I had a hard time with MOTM. I think Watson, Trembly, and Kreis all deserve it, but I ultimately decided on Kreis because he kept us from getting a loss. Also, you have to consider that he played the whole game and Trembly didn't. Trembly was fresh when he scored. Kreis was running on fumes when he scored. I'm now referring to Kreis as Jason "Freakin'" Kreis.

I liked Mathis - great passing and vision this game, from my humble vantage point - but point taken above in that perhaps he just played like he was supposed to have been playing all year. This is going to be one of the toughest MOTM votes ever! I really like hustle and effort, and we had a lot of guys fill those shoes this match. I may have to go with Williams this time too.

I don't think Jamie was quite up to his usual standard, but I mean by only a little bit, he was still awesome. Andy Williams hasn't had a lot of good comments on this forum, recently, well...ever, but last night seemed to be a great game for him. I usually go by how many times I actually notice a particular player. And Andy Williams was noticed a lot, last night. Of course, Kreis is my man, and he did score a goal last night, but I can't vote for him on that basis alone. I am leaning towards Andy Williams. Either that, or I'd have to go with Seth Trembly, for turning it around when "all appeared to be lost". Both of them had a definite impact on the game. Just a little side note: I noticed that several of the players just collapsed of exhaustion at the end of the game. I believe that is called "giving their all" or "giving 100%" and it is a very good thing to see. __________________ π Is it gametime yet? π Last edited by Jim Umber : 07-05-2005 at 12:57 PM.

The best part about Trembly's goal is that he took initiative. We found ourselves in the final third quite a bit last night, and too often we just crossed it in, hoping that someone would be there to knock it in (which, admittedly, isn't all *that* bad of a strategy, and is much better than what we're used to). But instead of taking the easy way out, Seth saw the opening and took a shot at it. I've never seen a crowd go from 0 to 60 so fast (Loyalists/RCB excluded, of course).

That is actually quite a good point. I understand that the Metros were getting A LOT of people behind the ball after they were up 2-0, but it seemed like we had a difficult time pulling the trigger in the final third. Trembly certainly did get an opportunity and made a great decision and execution. I was really impressed with Andy last night, but Seth did change the game... Quote:
Hmm, that is interesting. I thought that the crowd was really pretty into the game for good chunks of it.

Maybe it was just my section. It died down quite a bit midway through the second period to the point where people stopped standing up when we'd approach the goal, etc. Maybe they had used up all of their energy yelling at the referee.

How about the Loyalists as MOTM for cheering even when RSL was down by 2? I think our cheering gives them a little extra push when they need it.
