Kevin Graham

Here's an email I received from Kevin Graham today:
Quote:
Roger,

No need to apologize. I don't take that kind of stuff personally. As I said on the air...I just don't enjoy the game...never have. But as I also said, if the fans of SLC are going to continue to support it, it's my job to learn the game so I can be somewhat educated when talking about it. Let me know some dates and I'll try to make it down. Thanks for listening and for the email.

Kevin

I invited him to come join us at Iggy's sometime and to come chant with us at RES. His email is . I will try to let him know when the Iggy's parties are, but since I haven't been to any, yet, could all of you help me out and remind Kevin Graham too?

I think this is a great opportunity to turn things around between the Loyalists and Kevin Graham. He said he doesn't like soccer, but is willing to watch. Maybe some of us could help enlighten him and it will grow on him.

Again, I aplogize to all of you for speaking for the group when I wrote to him the first time. That was not my place. I hope that we can get him on board as a vocal supporter of The Loyalists and RSL.

R.D.

He said basically the same thing to me. His schtick is trying to aggravate people on the air. I can respect that, I enjoy needling people myself. That's a big shock, huh.

This is the guy that said he would cheer for RSL as long as he wore his Jets jersey right?
The Jets (isn't that a Polynesian kid rock group from the 80s)?

But isn't that how all of the guys are on 1280? Hatch didn't like soccer and now he does. I think Scotty G doesn't like soccer and he does the post game, but I don't know I haven't heard if he has changed his mind. So I guess we will have to convert Graham and have him join the party.

Well, on the radio Monson did say he was "assigning" him to go and sit with the Loyalists. Somebody should send him the home schedule and commit him to one of the dates. I would suggest that Loyal1 do so as an official Loyalists invitation. The 4th would be a good one because I think we're going to have a larger turn-out than normal, otherwise, the Chivas game in August may be good too! The FC Dallas game on the 23rd may not be the best one as we have more chance of losing that one than the other two - I bet, and the Loyalists typically bring more excitement when we're winning.

I think that's a good idea, because I'm tired of getting in trouble for overstepping my bounds. 🙂 My intentions are good. We really need to coordinate this. I'd like to get Graham on board. I'd like him to experience some of the energy that my brother-in-law experienced Wednesday sitting with the Loyalists.

That would be awesome. Make him take his shirt off and paint a giant letter on his chest like the guys last week.

I saw Graham right after the game last night. He recognized me and my family and I stopped him to ask what he thought of the game. His words, (and I'm paraphrasing), "the first 70 minutes sucked and then it was cool."

Didn't you see him when he came to the tailgate? A bunch of us welcomed him and his family. He's a good sport. (I think that's the 5th time I've used that phrase on these boards this morning). Although, I was looking for him in our section - never saw him.
