My guess is that no one will encourage you to throw anything on the pitch, as a matter of fact you will probably be encouraged to not throw anything.

I guess what I'm asking is will it offend anyone if some of us bag it, like the "bird man" offended people? Or is it just that you'd prefer not to?

By the way I am glad this has not turned into personal attacks or anything like that, great job everyone to keep this a good discussion.

Good points. And this has been a good discussion.

I won't do it myself, but won't think anything less of anyone that does. Everyone has their own opinion about what is the best thing to do and I'm not arrogant enough to think that my opinion should apply to everyone. Those that want to do it won't offend me at all.

Yes, good job by all. A good disagreement can be very healthy if done properly. Thanks for everyone sharing their thoughts.

Damn, you had to throw that out there just as I was about to call you a terrone. Then I also realized I'm the one representing southern Italy.

Well this all comes down to what I was saying before, that although we all love and support RSL, we all have different backgrounds, ways of dealing with things, etc.

...but somebody did just call me a GENIUS on another thread. :p

I definitely think we should do the silent minute. I'd like to make it even more visible if we can. If we only wore bags for the one minute, I think it would be clear to anyone who knows what is going on that it is the streak we are embarrassed about, nothing more. Especially when we emerge from underneath a minute later to cheer as loudly as we ever have.

Thoughts?

If mystery-flag-waving-tattoo-having-guy is there and you choose one minute of silence you will have to put up with one minute of him yelling. Be prepared for that. I bet people in the sections behind you will loudly express happiness that the people in the Loyalists section are finally sitting down. Sad, but true.

Also, I think the sitting down thing will be pretty good. People around the stadium will notice that way more than the silence or the increased attempt at being loud previous to it. Remember that the (relatively) little Loyalists section is only sometimes heard by the fans in the NW corner, are hard to hear by the people up and behind, and are very rarely heard from sections further south. In my mind the sitting makes the statement, the increased yelling before and after are for those worried about being negative. I also think that bags are appropriate for that minute.

I don't think 35 minutes is too long to sing "give us a goal". I would be inclined to say that it is almost long enough.

And please don't throw anything onto the field...even in a show of support.

How about we throw streamers when we pass the mark. then they know that we know. We are allowed to throw streamers.

I also would like to sing "all we are saying" for an extended amount of time. See how many people will join in. Then again, lots of people will probably start shouting "shut up" at us.

I was going to suggest throwing Viagra onto the field when we break the record, but...

Screw 'em if they can't take a joke.
