Usernames and you

So, why do you have the username that you do?

I’m just curious, please enlighten me.

My nickname is from high school as well.... as in "Uncle Remus". Not sure why, but it just stuck. And of course there is always T-Bone, but I don't use that much.

So is there a story as to why you actually got those names in the first place? (I like to pry :p)

Back in high school, the automatic system for creating usernames was the first five letters of the last name and first initial of the first name... Mine fudged a little but was "hackenj" and my husband's (friend at that time) was "montgj." When we got married, it was just tooo cute to change from "hackenj" to "montgj" but my husband was already "montgj" so I became "montgjules" (didn't want to use the full first name because that would be too much typing and as you can see I obviuosly don't want to type too much, that would be a pain and I couldn't stand that....) so my nickname of the past ("Jude") faded out and I became Jules. The only problem is people thinking it's "Jules" like "Jules Verne"... ie a man. Oh well. Blah blah blah blah blah, back to my "taking a break" from the forum.

We call my sister Julie, Jules quite a bit. My screen name came from my email that I use for messenger. I wanted one that would be easy for my students to remember. When I was joining boards, I decided to be boring and just use my email. Besides, I am almost Brazilian in that I generally only have one name anyway. My students typically only address me as Mr. when they want something. 🙂

I have a cat named Jules and she's a girl. She's going to turn eighteen this year and still going strong.
