Good lists so far. I'll add a few (forgive any duplicates):

Schalke 04-Borussia Dortmund
Bayern-1860

Sevilla-Real Betis
Deportivo La Coruna-Celta Vigo

Roma-Lazio
Parma-Bologna

Sheffield Wednesday-Sheffield United
Arsenal-Tottenham Hotspur

Marseille-Anyone in France
Dinamo Zagreb-Hayduk Split

So the next question is how are you guys so familiar with these rivalries and do you lean towards one team or another? What are the histories of the rivalries?

Can't speak for anyone else, but I've been a soccer fan for decades, so you just pick up on the rivalries as you go through. I've listed European club rivalry games since I've live in Europe a couple of times and followed teams wherever I was.

I've supported the (recently hapless) Owls of Sheffield Wednesday, so that's why they made my list. Living in Croatia, it was impossible not to be aware of Dinamo-Hayduk. That's a true rivalry in the old school sense. Take your flak jacket and kevlar to those games.

The rest are well known around Europe. Schalke-Dortmund is a particularly heated local derby. Parma-Bologna is always rough, but even more so now that they're in a playoff for Serie A (Bologna ahead 1-0 heading into Saturday's return leg at home).

Arsenal-THFC isn't what it used to be, but it's the first rivalry I remember as a kid living in London. It will always be The North London Derby.

The goal of the century (maradona) was during the same match. Argentina took England to war in 1982. During Argentina - England matches, Americans in Argentina get attacked simply for speaking English. Great intercontinental rivalry, great sides, this one is not going away for a long time.
