Gangs in Mexican League Supporters' Groups

Truly frightening article in Spanish

So I surf over to Spanish language newspaper La Opinion, so I can laugh at whoever is stuck with the thankless task of coaching Goats Lite.

And I find this article that says that the Mara Salvatrucha street gang is accused of infiltrating Mexican League Supporters' groups. The Mara Salvatrucha is a truly vile gang that shot up a bus in Honduras & killed a pregnant 17 year old who was going to testify against them.

This is very disturbing. I hate Chivas and I hate Amierdica even more.

But 110,000 people will sit down in the Azteca for a Chivas - Americrap Stupor Clasico with less violence than a NASCAR race that Tony Stewart wins. Or some Utah high school basketball games.

The government there is investigating.

Sounds much like the ultras in the Balkans, which were effectively fronts for organized crime and then paramilitaries once war broke out in the 1990's.

Not good.

Or the Ultras groups in Spain and Italy who get unofficial recognition from the clubs in the form of tickets, yet often cause games to abandoned like the CL quater-final between the 2 Milan teams.
