Neil, you are the man for setting up and administrating these forums. I also knew you were busy with your software, and there were no problems in the meantime.

..also, I agree, the reason for rep is so people can gain a rep-utation.

I don't think you get any rep for brown-nosing.

Unfortunately, my chosen career will not make me anything close to that. I suppose I could write a book on my experiences in the classroom, hmmm....

Seriously, does anyone here on the boards ever find themselves reading a post, then wondering "huh...I wonder what kind of reputation this person has. Wait, I know! I'll count the green boxes next to their name!!"

It's just a pointless stupid obsession, nothing more. Nothing to take seriously at all. It sparks creativity and friendly (albeit sometimes strange) discussion. Yeah, there are a whole flock of rep whores on the board here. I think I'm in the whore hall of fame. But seriously....who cares?

And as for any of you who don't rep me for this post, I'll hunt you down like the ingrates you are and whip you good.

Don't make me go find another random drama on campus just so I can hijack this one too...

I've spent the last two months working 12-16 hour days finishing a two year project for the latter that will hopefully make me several million dollars, you'll have to excuse me if that took priority over posting about soccer, no matter how much I love it.

If there was ever a problem with the forums, there are several people on here that have my cell phone number and could have called. That or they could have just talked to me at a game, I've been at every one. The only person to do so was Jules, and she didn't have a problem, she was just seeing how I was doing.

Well more rep for you! You are probably the only business owner here, right?

Anyways, I think paragraph 2 and 1 are contradictory. You have to be able to take a shot now and again. It is all in good fun, after all.

I appreciate the forums. I do know that you are making a few bucks off of them though, and I think that my $6 in your pocket is thanks enough. ($6 to be a site supporter times maybe a couple dozen or more site supporters, when the domain name registration cost you under $8 annually, and if you own a business the space to host this is essentially pennies per year. At least that is how I look at the forums that my company hosts, and the loyalists.org email accounts we give away for free. As far as I know the excess money goes right into your pocket, right?) I don't fault you for making a buck off of this at all, this is a capatist society after all, but maybe you shouldn't be quite so defensive when one of your customers makes a suggestion.

And seriously, is there any reason Neil has only one box? Lets get on it people! Furthermore, while a good deal of the rep I get is from me being a rep whore, I would guess that 2/3 to 3/4 of it is what you would consider legitimate rep.

Yeah rep is not too serious, sure. That's why I'm saying there is no need to up the rep limit. Save your reppage for funny or witty posts, or really good posts, not just

"rep me rep me rep me"

or you can rep that if that's what you want, but the limit is fine IMHO.
