Anyway, I didn't mean to open such a can of worms. By the way the reason I find Utah Mormons fair game, is because they drive me nuts at church.

Ditto everything said here.

And as a small observation, Utah Mormons have a MUCH smaller impact on the Church now than they did 10 or 15 years ago. So as their influence gets to be less and less, people will stop being annoyed by them.

Someone like me--you know, fiercely republican, uberconservative, uptight, holier-than-thou, close-minded, really superior acting, naive about the "real world".

Oh wait... I'm not republcan. I'm conservative about moral issues but not without putting a lot of serious thought into things. I'm anxious personality-wise but that's the way some people are built. I am much less holier-than-thou than a lot of people who are very unmormon (that has nothing to do with religion when you think about it), and I'm open-minded about learning whatever I can from people very different from me. And I probably should have been expelled from BYU for my level of "naivete" at times.

So, you know... a Utah Mormon is someone like me. Or at least like what people would assume about me when they know I am a stay-at-home mom in the UC.
I think you're being too apologetic. So what if you live in UC and like it? Good for you! I worked in UC for almost 4 years, and I enjoyed it. I prefer to live in Sandy because it's closer to family and a lot of the action, but wouldn't mind living in UC otherwise. If people don't like a certain prevailing attitude in an area, oh well. They typically will try and live somewhere else, or just end up being bitter. There's good and bad everywhere you live, probably. I get tired of people knocking UC or Utah for that matter and how this or that stinks. I figure they're either complainers by nature, or they'll eventually pack up and move somewhere more suited to what they like. Either way, no skin off my back. 🙄

So, SoccerPrime, wherever you decide to live I'm sure there's good and bad, but hopefully you'll feel welcomed and at home. At least you'll be in Utah where you'll at least have a home with the Loyalists! 🙂

Mr. Reid is an Aggie. Other than local politics (Cowboy Caucus & Eagle Forum) I actually prefer the other side of the aisle.

Rep for you.

But, in keeping with this thread, I would probably like Bush better if he thought that my Church wasn't "outside of mainstream Christianity". At least Reid knows that Mormons are Christian.

Nah, I still wouldn't like Bush.

Thanks! I need all the rep I can get. Even if it is from a non-Bush-lover. :D

What the.....? Mormons are Christians?!?!?! Why didn't anyone tell me? I thought they worshipped polygamy or something! (Stop before you get angry, those of you who don't know me. I'm kidding.) :p

The only thing I think that could make me like George Bush is if he admitted to the mistakes he's made instead of constantly trying to cover up, push aside, ignore, justify, etc.

I vote this the most off-topic thread ever! Make it live long and prosper.

Here is more rep.

Does that mean I can take another shot at Bush?

I think verbal shooting is completely acceptable. Just keep away from firearms.
