thanks for the input, now, here's one other variation, which is better, the old design of the verticle stripes, or the design with the horizontal stripes?

or

I think horizontal stripes might look cooler flapping in the wind when I wave it, but I just cant decide. Maybe I'll make one of each. Then again maybe not, since it will be my wife doing the sowing.

Well, here it is.

because of how we bought the material, I wound up with enough to do the verticle stripe flag twice, or just one of the horizontal flags. So I decided to do two verticle stripers, and I guess I'll lend the second to my neighbor at games. Maybe someday I'll still do the horizontal one as well, but not right away. I've done enough cleaning up the house to get my wife to make the first one, and we still haven't gotten to the second.

Who was it that had the pipe for poles? I could use two pieces. I'll be at the meeting on Saturday to watch the first game. We could meet up then if that works.

How is everybody putting together their poles? My wife is sowing a buttonhole in the corners of the flag that I was going to clip onto the pole with some clips and an eye screw. We thought about sowing a sleave to slip the pole in, but it would have used up too much of the material, and made my flag smaller.

One other thing. I wish I could have actually found Claret and Cobalt colored fabric. This flag could just as easily be for FC Dallas if it had a bull on it instead of a crown.

Okay, I can explain it somewhat to you, but I can't give you great details, because my wife is the seamstress not me. What I did was print it out as big as I could on paper. It turned out that wasn't big enough, so I did a freehand drawing of it. I actually drew only one side and then folded it in half and cut it out so that it would be even from one side to the other. Then we put on what is called Fusible Webbing (that may be spelled wrong, again the sowing is my wife's thing). It's basically iron on stuff. You iron it on to the material of the crown design, then peel off some paper, and you can iron the crown on to the flag. It's like those old iron-on t-shirt things you used to get as a kid, only I think this is a little more permanent. At least I hope it is. I would hate to see it start peeling off like those t-shirt designs used to do.

A little word of warning for anyone who thinks of using this same technique though. If you're putting letters onto your flag, make sure to work it out so they face the correct way. My second flag is now going to be merely a colored banner, no design anymore, because I screwed up and cut out the RSL logo backward. ๐Ÿ˜

Oops! ๐Ÿ˜ฒ Happens to the best of us. ๐Ÿ˜‰ I really like that "crown" flag. Well done.
