I have a dream... It worked for Martin Luther King, so here's my shot:
I have a dream that within the next 5 years, Real Salt Lake becomes the premier club in the league to play for, due to incredible fan support and atmosphere. The new stadium gets an infamous nickname due to its notoriety, and the difficulty in coming away from it with a tie, let alone a win. Even the world soccer community peeks in from time to time due to the incredible atmosphere! Between 5 and 10 years, due to it's success, and the contagious effect on the MLS as a whole, the popularity of the sport skyrockets, as do player salaries. Notable US players decide to remain in the US in larger numbers to play for home-based sides. The youth of america begin a more serious migration towards the sport - humbling the likes of basketball, baseball and football (and humbling the athletes as well). 1280, and sports radio in the Salt Lake valley, spend up to a 1/3 of the airtime on soccer during the pre-, post- and regular seasons (I think that's 10 months out of the year). The MLS begins to climb the ladder of the premier world leagues, and spends it's time at the 3 or 4 slot. In 15 years, additions are built on many US stadiums - notably Salt Lake, accomodating 50,000 patrons. Expansion in the MLS leaves it at 20 teams, in 4 divisions within 2 conferences. At this 15 year mark, Real wins it's 6th league title, and, for promotional purposes, an international exhibition 2-game series is negotiated with the current Spanish champions, Real Madrid. The games are nationally televised on CBS, with each team taking a home win. The Salt Lake match brings in higher ratings than Super Bowl LIX (now advertised as "59" due to the inability of many Americans to discern what the "L" means - poor souls). From 15 years up, the US is a serious, consistent contender for the World Cup, making it to the finals for the first time in 2018 and winning it's first World Cup in 2022. That's my dream. I can dream, can't I? :D Now who's going to help me make it come true? __________________

While you are dreaming, you should throw in a single table with promotion and relegation.

And you might as well wish for a good cheesecake. That dream can come true before 15 years!

According to Fox Sports, RSL will be in the MLS Cup in 2007, however we will lose to the Seattle Sounders!!!!

Is Seattle even being strongly considered as one of the next expansion possibilities anymore?

Other than the time table (mine is a little shorter), your dream parallels mine very closely! How amazing! Now I'm sure it will happen just that way. Hey, if two of us have the same dream, it must be true! Right? Huh? Right? __________________
