I fail to see why RSL is taking the blame for all the stadium issues. Ummm whatever! seems fitting! The only positives I see out of this is that it highlights the need for a SSS and it is publicity and as they say in the business "bad publicity is still publicity"

If you pick up a paper copy, it's even lamer... there's a big headline saying "Second Chance" with a picture of the stadium before the game.
Like, quick, someone call the Wahmbulance because I couldn't bring my own ice cream into the stadium and I was too dumb to eat it before I came in so I had to stand in a big long line and I got ran over by a Loch Ness Monster...

More double standards, quite commonly at big events (at other venues) a large walk-up crowd overwhelms the ticket office. A few years ago, my wife was given vouchers for a Utah Starzz (WBNA team which eventually moved) playoff game on the day of the game. As we didn't have time to plan the night out, we couldn't get to the game site until 10-15 minutes before the game and found that 1000s of people had these vouchers which had to be traded in the ticket office and/or were using will call and the Delta Center was overwhelmed and many of us missed much of the first half. No mention of the delays in the paper the next day. I've witnessed the same thing numerous times for other sporting events when I have bought tickets for an event in advance, and as I pass by the ticket windows while entering the arena, I observe huge lines of fans who aren't going to make the opening of the event. But for the RSL opener, and for the Women's National game a few years ago, the press made it a big story that late-arriving fans did not get into the stadium in time to see the match begin. RSL did all they could do, pleading with people to please purchase tickets in advance and/or arrive early, yet huge numbers of people walked up to the stadium ticket booths less than 15 minutes before kickoff, expecting to immediately purchase a ticket and get in their seats in time for the opening kick.

To any RSL or UofU guys that may be reading, or to any whiners that like to show up to the game at kickoff time and then complain to the paper when they don't get in for free:
The ticket purchasing process and buying concessions at the stadium were seamless. Got there at 7:10, bought 2 tickets in about 30 seconds, went through the security check and got through the line in about another 15 seconds (the strip search was a little awkward, though), and had 2 people in front of me in line for concessions with a total wait of about a minute. Yeah, there weren't as many fans as last time, but I still thought it was very nicely done for what had to have been (by my estimation) 5k+ walk-up ticket buyers. The only thing I thought was strange is that I asked for two tickets for E32, and was told that they don't sell tickets by section, just by price category. So I bought 2 corners, and ended up with my ticket in E32, and my two guests in W16. I guess they just figured it wasn't going to sell out, so it didn't really matter what it said on the ticket? Also, at the beginning of the 2nd half, about half of the people in my section moved over to fill in the empty spots in the more expensive section. Guess the ushers aren't all that strict. And some drunk guy in front of me wouldn't sit down. Really, I should have complained to the Trib or Desnews and demanded my money back.
