Is this true?
Wow! 😲

How much do you want to bet that a search engine ran a crawl on this site? I bet that is the reason for the high numbers. I don't even think there are 339 registered users are there?

Can this number be reset? If it can, I think that we should. I liked keeping track of the popularity of the site and it will be impossible now.

betcha Neil or whoever could probably hop into the database and just reset that number. Maybe.

Someone said it was Inktomi. I haven't been keeping up, but back in the day they powered yahoo and msn (although i think msn is doing their own thing now) as well as some other search engines. Will be interesting to see if this eventually boosts the site's rankings.

Just as an intersting asside to this thread, I originally found this site using a search engine. I think I searched for "Real Salt Lake" on Google.

I was thinking the same thing. Just for the record, I'm working on a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology.

I was a computer science teacher for one semester before having my first child.

Also, and more importantly, I'm married to a computer nerd. (bordy7's friend from high school.... they were all really bitter that my husband would rather spend time with girls than with that little game with tanks and stuff...You know what I'm talking about, bordy and scilaci!) 😉
