I got the word late last night that RSL watch party had been shot down. I was told "for a variety of reasons."

I think the "meeting" was just to meet and watch the game together. I hope people aren't expecting too much. As it looks now I might just be at home continueing the soccer indoctrination of the my kids.

So I have spent every spare second since I found out the deal with RSL was off and am having trouble finding a spot... I busted my butt, but I couldn't get anything nailed down. However, the guy at Loco Lizard on Big Cottonwood road wants to work with us in the future... his problem is that he only has a few TV's and none is his group section. So nothing official, but if you show up and ask for the section with TV's he will change it for the RSL game (trust me with the NCAA final 4 going on that is big committment). But, my fried brain was unable to drum anything up official. Sorry for letting you guys down... or perhaps someone would be willing to host people at their home and have a pot luck type deal? My tiny 1 bedroom barely fits 10 people (I have had 10 in there and it doesn't work so well) or I would volunteer.

So, final is that nothing is offically happening. 🙁

Okay, so no Loyalist business? No plans for the home opener or anything? Why were we going to meet early? Just for socializing? Please clarify! :D

Also, we UCites had previously discussed getting together for a little soccer game and socializing before the game. If the whole group isn't getting together, do the UCites still want to get together and host something?

Edit: I can help get this organized if people are interested. Post here or PM if you're interested.

I guess if nothing official is going on, we could meet at my house to watch the game where I know for sure that the game will be on. If anyone is interested in that, let me know. If not, I'd definitely like to meet somewhere with some of you to watch the game. I don't want to watch it by myself.

I refuse to give up ... yet!

This first match only happens once peeps!!!

Does anyone know anything about "the Puck Restaurant and Sports Bar" in West Valley?
or The Huddle in Fort Union?
or Scorez Sports Bar in Lehi?

Just want toknow in case I can get something at one of these.
I have never heard of them and didn't want to book something that is a dive or is filled with smoke and drunks

I have an odd request. I will be down in the UC on Saturday but for reasons of a "prior engagement" won't be able to watch the game until after say 8pm ish. I would be willing to volunteer my in-laws basement 🙂 if anyone who would also be at this "prior engagement" and in the UC would like to watch the tape, and subsequently MLS Wrap.

I would need a head count, so please PM me if interested.

Iggy's in Sandy is still a possibility...

The three places I listed below are all private clubs so are OUT with a capitol "NO SMOKING!" ...
I know I am not the only person that does not want to be around a bunch of smokers.

(Don't you just hate reformed smokers :D )

Good. I totally agree with you. This will only happen once and we should make it as big a party as we possibly can.

I had an old girlfriend that was a waitress there. It is a fairly upscale sports bar. It has a really high ceiling so the smoke content isn't too bad. And they have a ton of tvs to watch sports on. It is one big room with a main big screen above the bar. I'm sure we could take over a corner of the place and have them turn on one of the TVs for us. It wouldn't be ideal, but it wouldn't be that bad either.

I don't know anything at all about either of these.

Let's just hope that we can get Iggy's to give us one of their screens. That sounds like the best option.

What's "smiking?" Does it have anything to do with Karaoke? :D
