That's not bad for Titan Stadium. Embarassing for the USMNT, but I actually expected a smaller crowd.

SoCals missed a great game. We shouldn't bother with games there any more. Or if we do, all games should be at the HDC.

Why does the USMNT play an international friendly in a stadium with the capacity of only 10,000?

Beats me. And although Titan Stadium isn't exactly a dump, it's not up to the standard we now expect.

What, was the HDC booked? Isn't it our "National Training Center"?

On to . . . Albuquerque.

Ok I am going to show my ignorance here, but have 2 questions....
Will this red card effect his playing in future?
Do red cards in friendlies count against a player?

Good write-up by Tino Palace on the game:

http://www.mlsnet.com/MLS/news/mls_news.jsp?ymd=20050310&content_id=23864&vkey=news_mls&fext=.jsp

If the link doesn't work, it's posted on MLSnet.com

Palace on Mathis:

"I know I am starting to sound like I am on his payroll, but I just like watching Clint Mathis play soccer. The guy is not just a sniffer, but really is not afraid to dare to be great at times. With about a half-hour left Wednesday night, Pat Noonan crossed a ball to Mathis near the top of the box, and rather than chesting it down, Cleetus picked it out of the air with a vicious volley. Had the drive not been deflected by a defender, the Colombians would've been picking a brilliant goal out of their net.

Cleetus also had a nice night serving up dead balls, and was rewarded on the USA's third goal, when his corner kick ended up in the Colombians' goal. He was credited with the goal, and while it actually appeared to be an own goal, a combination of no replays and a little home cooking means RSL's sniper can claim it.

While we all wonder if he is going to produce all season long for John Ellinger, he still is one of the guys I would be happy to lay down a few bucks to watch play."

So would I. I can't wait to see him scoring goals and running over to our section to celebrate. Just a little over a month away, but it seems like a year.

According to ESPN's games summary Pope didn't play due to injury. Any details on that?

This was just a friendly. So I am pretty sure that Twellman could play in our friendly against Honduras in Albuquerque.

But in practice, His Bruceness might make Twellman watch from the sidelines so that Taylor has even more time to reflect on his red card.......

BS posters say that the Red was not deserved, but enigmatic refereeing is part of qualifying in CONCACAF road games.
