I'm all for cheerleaders as long as we put together the right squad.
I suggest

Emmy Rossum
Kiera Knightly
Natalie Portman
Jennifer Love Hewitt
Charlize Theron
Beyonce
Halle Berry

Could the FO get to work on this immediately?

Let me just preface this by saying that I've danced my entire life, since I was three, and I did spend a year on the high school drill team before coming to my senses...

JUST SAY NO TO "CHEERLEADERS"!

Am going to just shut up right now before I get off on one of my feminazi rants. :D

❓

I agree. I don't come to a soccer game to watch cheer leaders, and they could actually be a distraction, but as long as I can still see the pitch, it wouldn't hurt my feelings or make me angry. I'd feel sorry for the girls, having such a useless function. But I don't really care. I assume we would simply carry on. No problem. :p

I'll join you in shutting up. I've stated my opinion on the cheerleader issue before, and I don't pull out the feminist side of my personality all too often (I assume everyone KNOWS that males and females are equally competent in most ways and inherently different in other ways, so why should I make a big deal out of it?)

JUST SAY NO TO soft porn... I mean ... "CHEERLEADERS"! 😉 :D

Yes, hardcore porn is much better. :D

(I'm totally kidding here. I, in no way advocate the watching of any porn.)

Thankfully, I don't think the heavy artillery is necessary when a slingshot will do.

OK, maybe I should explain that.

I think you won't need the feminist arguments because, as this thread shows, the simplest argmument is the best--there's no NEED for cheerleaders in soccer.

They serve no purpose. The game is entertaining itself, with continuous action and no timeouts to fill in. The fans (aka the Loyalists) are self-activated cheer/chant/song generators. We'll bring the flags so that we have something to wave around.

We've got it covered.

What more needs to be said? That's it. There is no need.
