We need to do something

I hate feeling so helpless while all of this happens... I agree that the fans need to be heard, even if it is just to let the team know how much we love them and want them to stay, even though they've faced so much opposition with the stadium deal. And also to show support in retrying to get the stadium downtown. I'm still hoping for that. I'm not sure how this is supposed to work but maybe all of us fans could just gather somewhere with signs that say what we feel and just hang out all day. The media will definetly cover it, so our message will reach everyone its supposed to. I just have to do something!

It is interesting to note that Rocky and the city have been positive about the stadium since day one.

It was Checketts who didn't want a downtown stadium. Checketts decided to try for the lower probability shot in Sandy and it didn't work. Now he wants to sell his marbles and go home.

Anderson is even sucking up his ego and say, "I'm still here and interested, even though you spurned me before" and Checketts says, No, you still aren't good enough for me.

And, for me, the bottom line was: RSL never ever once or at all showed they had a clue how to generate positive public buzz about the idea. And *that* is what scuttled it in Sandy. Politicians are interested in re-election, period. If the public is behind a bad idea, they will execute the bad idea in order to ensure re-election. RSL blew it on the public relations (would that be FU Trey Fitzgerald?) front and that is where this was lost.

Didn't the Bramble legislation (the chalk bill) force them to look away from downtown?

by the way, new info here:

Let the mayor know you're pissed off

I saw this over on KSL's message board and think it's a good idea:

Even if it may be too late it would be nice for the mayor's office to know how many of us would have liked a stadium.

They are keeping tally of support. I just called and it took me about 40 seconds. You can leave your name with them if you want. Pass the phone number on to everyone you know to call today.
