I'm providing a link to the Other Forum's discussion of this same topic. I hope that Loyalist leadership can take a lead in organizing events for this awesome date.

Notpele brings it.

The US hosted Costa Rica in Palo Alto once, who is about a half an hour drive from San Jose (traffic permitting).

But here's yet another good article from James Edward.

Very good story. It's great to see media coverage of any kind on soccer. I'm sure this story will continue to receive coverage as we anticipate the event.

Still no “official” reaction on the WCQ from RSL?

As of Feb. 24:

"We are very, very close to having a signed contract," said spokesman Trey Fitz-Gerald, spokesman for Major League Soccer's new Real Salt Lake team. "It's not done yet. It's a coordination process. We are certainly optimistic that we will reach an agreement hopefully in the next 24 hours."

Pope will probably be tired for one of the games, whoever plays first

Pope will likely start and play the full 90, so I doubt he'll play both games. Mathis often comes off the bench for 20-30 minutes in the second half for the USMNT, so if they play first he might play for RSL against FC Dallas. Then again, on the other side of the ball we may not Eddie Johnson for FC Dallas if he continues playing so well (and starting) for the Nats.

Costa Rica is a tough team, so we can't afford to not have the best 11 out there. This is not the rivalry of USA-Mexico, but it's always very competitive and usually fun to watch. We CANNOT count on an automatic win down in Costa Rica, so to hold serve we have to win this one. My guess is we do see some Euro-based players, especially since most European Leagues are done by the end of May.
