Once in a Lifetime: The Extraordinary Story of the New York Cosmos

For you lucky people in SLC, you should check out this movie which is playing at the Trolley.

Great film! Really puts things in perspective. I wish every anti-soccer press guy would watch this film and realize how fortunate we are to have an MLS franchise here in Utah...

Great movie.

DVRed it for DW while I watched it on ESPN2 the other night. Great stuff!

Pity the league burned out, but lessons learned is the more careful pace the MLS has taken. I had no idea that Warner Communications was behind the Cosmos.

It was very interesting, really.

Actually I thought it was clear from the documentary that most of the people involved, including the production staff, thought Giorgio was the biggest loser.

I really liked all the "where are they now" poses at the end with the credits, including Chinaglia in the empty locker room by himself, and listed as VP of ChampsWorld, now bankrupt. 😉
Pele was funny/depressing as well. "Declined to be interviewed".

Yea, but Giorgio's attitude of "I don't give a rat's *** about anybody" was equally humorous.

Ahmet's comment directed toward Giorgio "Just because your a carpenter doesn't make you an architect" was funny in light of his current profession, revealed during the "where are they now" portion of the credits:

"Carpenter and Architect."

With the "cha - ching" sounding in the background simultaneously...

Once again, a great production. Well worth watching...
