Today's bird cage liner seems to indicate that Dave pretty much
has a preferred site in Salt Lake County and he is not inclined to
reveal anything until Saturday. Also appears that while selling the
team to the Anderson/Geneva group is still an option, he has no
interest at all in owning the team in Utah County. Appears also
that we will very probably know the fate or future of the team
come Saturday.

Best case scenario, at the RM vs. RSL match Saturday,
during pre-game, half time, or post-game
festivities, they put up a shot on the big TV screen above the
south stands showing a few RSL officials and investors with
shovels 'breaking ground' at a new site in the SL area
while the crowd bursts into a roar of approval.

I'm just curious how you arrived at that conclusion based on what's being said?

If SL County said no, if the State is going to pull the Hotel Tax IF SL County doesn't use it for RSL...

I am at a loss, but my guess is that the State is going to force the County to use the money on the stadium.

Is that far fetch?

Otherwise, I don't see how RSL gets the money. Sandy can't get that much cash by themselves.

This clears things up, a bit:
The deal, which would have to be approved at a special legislative session, also would divert to mass transit the $90 million in hotel taxes that had been earmarked for a proposed Major League Soccer stadium in Sandy.

If $90 million has already been earmarked, then what is the problem? I thought we were talking about $35-45 million. Where does this $90 million figure come from?
