Italy Scandal: Team Punishments

While the official announcement has not yet been made, the Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport is reporting that Juve, Fiorentina and Lazio will be relegated to Serie B, AC Milan will stay in Serie A but will not be allowed to represent Serie A in the Champions League.

For others that are also fluent in Italian (Jake) here's the story:

Juve, Fiorentina e Lazio in B, Milan in A ma senza Champions

Puishments official

The Gazzetta was pretty much spot on.

Juve Relegated to Serie B. Will begin -30 points
Milan stays in Serie A. Will begin -15 pts (last season -44pts = no CL)
Lazio Relegated to Serie B. Will Begin -7 points
Fiorentina Relegated to Serie B. Will Begin -12 points

The clubs can appeal these punishments.

Juve, Fiorentina e Lazio in B Milan in A ma partirĂ  da -15

It says the verdicts were due at about 7 PM (11 AM our time) but because of other circumstances will be delayed until 9 PM (1 PM our time)... one of the circumstances mentioned was the intense Roman traffic (haha)

Milan stays in Serie A but may start with negative points... and no Champions or Uefa cup.

This probably means Roma will be in Champions.. nice!

-30... either that's seriously funny or I'm far too easily amused.

Let the Seire A fire sale begin....

no in comparison.... (I have to do this guys)

The fans of these great teams, if they start an email campaign or party outside news stations, will that change anything? They could organize huge rallies much like the many rallies against Glazier last year at ManU, that didn't change anything either.

You do what you can by buying tickets, going to games, etc. The FO needs to start caring for this team and not use us as their lobbying group (but hey, free is better than whoever they're paying now).

Good luck with your efforts.

Sorry man, but Apples/Oranges Fue.

They're aren't battling against missinformation, they're battling against a legal ruling by a governing committee based on findings of an investigation. Big difference. With that you take your lumps. We're battling a propaganda machine that seems bent on misconstruing the facts and swaying public opinion with that missinformation.

If you feel that way...

again, good luck with your efforts. I'll continue to help lead my crew and we'll continue to go to matches, buy stuff, tailgate, etc...

i'm leaving lobbying to the professionals.... who get money....
