When my mother was pregnant with me they did an ultrasound and found she was having twins. When they did another ultrasound a few weeks later they discovered that I had reabsorbed the other fetus. Zinedine Zidane has apologized for head butting Italy's Marco Materazzi, sort of.

"I want to ask for forgiveness from all the children who watched," Zidane said. However, he added, "I want to apologize to them but I can't regret what I did because it would mean that he (Materazzi) was right to say what he said."

He still refused to say what was said, however, he did say it was "very personal" and was related to his mother and his sister.

All Zidane would say was that Materazzi repeatedly insulted him and his family, and that the Italian's remarks were "very personal and concerned my mother and sister. I tried not to listen to him but he kept repeating them.

"He, then, pronounced very tough words about my mother and my sister. I tried not to listen to him but he kept repeating them," Zidane said.

"I knew it was my last game and I knew that there were only 10 minutes to play but things happened very swiftly", he said.

"I am a man before anything else," he added.

European Cup qualifying starts in mid-August, and magically on September 6 Italy must go to Paris to play France!

Wouldn't it be awesome if Zizou stayed on until that match and pulled out all the stops against the Azzurri?
