I honestly get the impression that the public at large are being de-sensitized to the stadium issue!

So many set backs and new hopes that after a while people will just stop caring.

Welcome to Spin 101

By the way... "Spin" is just a new way to say "LIE"

How much extra cash did RSL need to build at Fairpark again?
*sigh*

Possible outcomes and responses:

1- Sandy gets stadium - Ecstatic!
2- Fairpark stadium - Less than enthusiastic
3- SLC gets stadium - Happy
4- RSL doesn't get stadium and moves the team - Where's my gun?

Well I well ignore the "move the team" banter, but realistically we have:

1- Sandy gets approved (by some miracle)
or it doesn't
2- Fairpark happens (still, where does the money come from?)
or
3- Some other SLC property or Murrary returns???
finally,
4- Stay at RES?????????????????

Staying at RES isn't currently an option - financially or operationally. Unless, or course, RES puts in grass and backs down on the rental fees significantly, OR MLS decides to let Uncle Dave slide on his committment to building a stadium for the team here in Salt Lake. I seriously doubt either will pan out.

At one point, RES rental fees were low enough for the Blitzz to play there.

Apparently they aren't low enough for RSL to make a profit if they stay there. RSL has indicated as much.

They also had a field that a cow would actually graze on for the first season until they tore it up to put in the ice rink for the 2002 Olympics.

But as noted by Aerick, RSL probably has higher costs than the Blitzz. (I have a feeling that RSL players are paid a bit more than the Blitzz were paid.)
