It's too bad that RSL hasn't had more success on the pitch. I guarantee that it would be a much easier sell if RSL had received more positive press due to wins, playoff contention, etc. As it stands, we're trying to get a stadium for the worst team in the history of MLS. My prediction? No stadium at all and the county /city / University of Utah takes a more proactive role in bettering the current situation at Rice Eccles.
Then, (assuming that the team hasn't folded or moved) in 10 - 15 years when we've finally gotten rid of Ellinger and we're making a playoff run and substantial positive buzz has been generated, the stadium talks will go better. __________________

Absolutely correct Bardguy.
Wouldn't it convince more people if RSL was at least an average team as opposed to be dead last? Come on RSL, get it together! And as for staying at RES, its not an option I personally favor. But considering every other situation calls for massive public funds that the good politicians of Utah seem unwilling to give RSL, are there any other options? | |||||
