Well I assumed this was a Soccer glossary not netiquette (Internet culture).
MLS=Major League Soccer
RSL=Real Salt Lake
GOAL=What Kreis and Mathis will do a lot of of... :D

Regular internet talk glossary would include:
BTW=By the way
IMHO=In My Humble Opinion
BRB=Be Right Back
Check out this link for info: http://www.google.com/search?q=internet+acronyms&hl=en&lr=

The SmurfQuakes or San-Joe = Earthquakes.
and Devolution = Revolution but that is kinda lame...

Netiquette....
FFS = For Fetch Sake
f'kin = freakin'
You thought I was going there didn't ya? .... Didn't ya?

:D

None a ya'll from Georgia? "Cletus" is a redneck reference if there ever was one. And yes, it's Cletus, as if anyone in the South cares how we spell it.

I don't remember Mathis picking up the nickname until he got to Metro. His "Georgia-Boy-Wild-In-The-City" rep spread, and the name stuck. It might have been Jeff Bradley or some other columnist who popularized it.

Since I've never heard Mathis use the name, I doubt he likes it much. But who knows? Anybody ask him?

Actually I am in the South, and I am the one that asked the correct spelling.
And we were both wrong, its actually CLEETUS.

But what does it mean?? Is it just a redneck-sounding name... like LaVerle is "Utahn"-sounding?

Cleetus is just a southern-redneck type nickname.
If you read the articles that I posted, Clint says the LA Galaxy players originally called him NASCAR because he was the only southerner with an accent on the team. Cleetus was the next name and it caught on. Probably because its closer to his real name, Clint.
A famous Cleetus (notice the spelling) is Cletus from Simpsons: http://animatedtv.about.com/library/weekly/aa050101a.htm
