This thread makes me want to remind the Clint lovers that last year you were jearing and doing anti-Cunningham chants. Cunningham even took the time to goad the Loyalist and RCB as well. He actually cited that on more than one accasion as part of the reason he was excited to play here.

So lets all make it fun for Clint and take a few jabs (not that we actually want him back though).

It doesn't parallel at all... We had no loyalty then, now we do.

Plus, Cletus was always one of my favorites. I'd take a jab most other former-RSLers.

Postscript: I see logically that Cletus is fair game. In fact, he's an easy target. I don't take issue with other people dishing it out and I almost wish that I could too, but it's just not my personality. Try as I might, I don't think I can boo an old favorite. I'll count on all the rest of you to dish out a little extra to make up the sentimentals like me. 🙂

I just hope our lads are watching their "Linus and Charlie Browns."

If he loses his cool then he loses his game. Chant loud, chant long and chant in his ear. Then if you really must buy him a post game pizza.

Over at the Galaxians board or the Riot Squad board, they will remember this better.

But back in 1999, Clint and the Galaxy were visiting the San Diego Flash for a US Open Cup game. I am pretty sure that Joe Cannon was the Flash's goalkeeper. But I am too lazy to look that up.

Clint had by that time been in a couple of friendlies for the USMNT. But he was still pretty far down The Bruce's depth chart (not as far as he is now, of course).

San Diego fans began taunting Clint with "Why aren't you playing for the US?" And Clint actually responded. Supposedly, he said, "Because I'm not good enough!"

Well, of course you can guess what happened next. Clint scored a Goal Of The Century quality Golazo and celebrated in front of the fans that were taunting him.
