I'm scheduled for 64 but I'll try to get in a few extra credit one too.

Where are people watching?

Most of them I'll be in the same seat I was when JOB scored v. Portugal.
FE will be showing the games. I think I'll see a Argentina game at the Tango restaurant downtown.

Last time around, my buddies and I would go watch the Brazilian games at Made In Brazil on Fort Union and 23rd E. They would charge $5 for entry (standing room only), fountain drinks, and croquetas (sp?) during halftime. It was a great experience. They had drums in the back. And of course they won every game.

I put around 11 to 15 because I'm not sure how happy my wife will be if I take up all the DVR space with games. We'll see....

Also, I'd have to delete my "Office" episodes, and I still haven't figured how to get them off and onto my computer or some other removable storage device.

I work swing and the wife has already told me that WHILE I WATCH MY WORLD CUP SOCCER GAMES she will redo the two kids rooms. I thought she was kidding, but I think she is serious.

So I put down all 64, but I don't think it will happen. Sometimes you can have too much of a good thing.

I know myself and I know the animal I can turn into. So I am going to avoid going the Howard Hughes hermit route and plan in advance what matches to watch. Here is a link to the tv schedule if needed

http://media.espn.com/ESPNToday/2006/Mar_06/cup_sked.htm

Of course all USA matches will be sacred. No one in the house will be allowed to walk in front of the tv at any moment.

I will probably watch all Brazil and Argentina matches as well. I'm not a fan of watch parties for some reason, I prefer viewing from my own sanctuary.

Other interesting match-ups I'll watch.

England vs Paraguay
Germany vs Poland
Portugal vs Mexico
Czech Republic vs Italy

But I think I'm going to skip games like Tunisia vs Saudi Arabia or Ivory Coast vs Serbia-Montenegro.

One thing not to be missed though will be World Cup Live-the daily news, highlights and analysis show. It will air on ESPN and ESPN2 sometime between 10pm and midnight our time. I remember from France 98 they did an excellent job covering all of the highlights and showing extra things having to do with the World Cup.

I figure my video tape collection will grow by 15 to 20 tapes once everything is all said and done.

After looking at the schedule more closely, I've earmarked 29 games for watching/recording.

Now if I can get someone to show me how to off-load my DVR onto storage media so I can have space for all of these games...

No kidding. I am trying to find room around all the taped Earl and Office episodes I taped this year.

THAT'S EXACTLY MY PROBLEM!!!! 😁

A guy here at work is going to try and help me figure it out. It may require a hack of my DVR unit. :P
