I'm concerned too. Maybe if we all get concerned enough, things will improve.

Well I guess admitting the problem is the first step. Only took what, a year and a half?

Really, like the defenders are supposed to mark all the attackers? I think the only good solution to this problem may be a trade. Anyone have any good ideas along those lines? I wouldn't mind seeing Williams traded for some defense.

Or they could at least experiment with what they have, namely Guatamala's starting center back, Cabrera and much discussed Forko. I mean whats the worse that could happen? Lose?

I'm for that too, but it seems that there is room for a trade. Williams, as disgusted as RSL fans are with him, isn't really a bad player in the right environment. The problem is that he's not the guy that RSL needs. We have Mehdi, Johnson, Kreis, and Harris who can play the attack midfield roll. I haven't put much thought into this yet, but say you trade Williams to Chivas for someone like Tim Reagan or Vaughn. It seems to me, that sort of trade could benefit both teams. If not Chivas, can you think of who? That's my question to you.

Maybe we could trade Brownie and Talley for Chris Albright!

But personally, I wouldn't trade Williams. I think he is a good player who is being forced to play the wrong position 99% of the time.

I doubt that Talley and Brown combined are worth half an Albright. I also would like to keep Williams, but only if we can actually play him in his NATURAL position.

ELLINGER! STOP EXPERIMENTING! THIS ISN'T SOME LAB CLASS FOR SOCCER MANAGEMENT 101!!! PLAY THE PLAYERS WHERE THEY ARE COMFORTABLE PLAYING, WHERE THEIR SKILL SETS DEMAND!

I guess the most frustrating thing is that you keep seeing Ellinger do these seemingly stupid things, playing players out of position, making "interesting" substitutions, not playing truly talented players, etc. and then you wonder, "Hey, I'm no pro soccer coach. What the hell do I know? Maybe Ellinger actually knows what he's doing!" Then you look at the Western Conference table and you start to cry.

The problem is that we obviously have more depth of talent at midfield and forward than we do on defense. Hence the reason that we get stuck playing a 3-5-2 when it doesn't always make sense. We just don't have 4 dependable defenders, and getting our best 11 players on the field pretty much requires that formation.

I wouldn't be opposed to trading someone like Andy for a solid right back, for example.

I never said I wasn't a pro soccer coach. 😉
I quite honestly feel that I know more than Ellinger right now.
Because I can admit we suck.
