It's no sin to be a realistic Real supporter and loyal Loyalist all in the same breath. Those of us who can pull it off just have more complex cognitive constructs. (Oops, let's not start in on psychology or communications theory...) 😉

The only player missing from the DC team, including their starting lineup, was Ben Olsen. Olsen <> Pope+Mathis.

Concur with all. But I don't think it would matter much to me if they had played.

Add me to the list of the Not Particularly Disappointed. I'll state the obvious, since I have so much practice at it: I don't care if we lose scrimmages. I care if we lose league, cup, and playoff games.

We're only into these scrimmage games because, well, we haven't played any games that count. Ever. That will change 2 April. Anything before then is just a warm-up.

EXACTLY! If we weren't all starving for ANY info about the team, we wouldn't even be paying attention to these "warm up" games.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that we'd all be singing a different tune if the score was reversed. Then this thread would be a lot of "We're all that" rather than "this doesn't count."

Oops, another unpopular honest opinion slipped out of me. What I meant to say was, "I didn't really want to win anyway."

I think we might create a rule the pregnant women can't post. *ouch, stop hitting me*
Just kidding Jules, my wife will get me for that. 🙂

Seriously though, its hard to have a real opinion of the team because of the ideas I posted earlier.
This Sunday with RSL at full strength will be a more accurate assestment.

I can't speak for anyone else, but my reaction would be the same no matter the score. If we'd won 5-1, I'd still say it doesn't matter--because the game itself doesn't matter. My point is that no one should attach any importance to the results of these matches. Sure, evaluate trends in play and team chemistry on the field, but the result in an afterthought. Lose, OR Win.

Is it going to be like this until April? Every practice, scrimmage, and press conference changes the fate of the season?

Of course, what else would we post about?
