Sat. Notes from Bradenton • Leighton O'Brien is really emerging as a solid player on the team. Coach John Ellinger said he was a top 3 finisher on the team. He has a very powerful and accurate shot. (side note, Behncke has the most powerful shot on the team).
• Ellinger's starting lineup for Sunday night's game. --------Kreis-----------Mathis--------- --------------Williams------------------ ----Brenes----------------Selalwane---- ---------------Kamler------------------- --Behncke---Pope---Dunseth---Pierce--- --------------Countess ---------------- • Ellinger said he sub in Nolly for Countess and halftime along with Akwari for Pope. His subs for the game would be Jamie Watson, Luke K. and Leighton O'Brien. • He wanted to experiment with Selalwane at right midfield just to see how he handles the situation. Plus, as every knows, he's stuck behind two talented forwards on the depth chart. • Ellinger said everyone would play in the morning game against San Jose. Sergio Flores will start at the back, as will Senad Halilovic and Michael Lookingland. • The five poster boys for RSL (Mathis, Pope, Williams, Kreis, Countess) will shoot a commercial on Tuesday, that will air in Utah in mid-March. Great info again, thanks a lot! What position has O'Brien played mostly? Who else is a top finisher (Mathis?)? How has Halilovic looked?

Bringing in Akwari for Pope will make our back line look like it will when Eddie has USMNT duty.
Maybe O'Brien will be our Brian Ching. Weren't Ching and O'Brien teammates in Seattle? My idea for a commercial involves Cletus and that Charlie Daniels song, "Leave That Long-Haired Country Boy Alone", but that's why I'm not in the entertainment industry. Thanks again, James! | |||||
