Beautiful response. Simply beautiful.

I would've gave him a nice contact buyout and got him to "resign" last october. But if I'm Dave Checketts and I keep him around all summer, I'm either convinced he can turn things around or I'm waiting for the perfect canidate to be available. Either way, I don't see that happening until after the World Cup.

Anyone want to place bets on where in the valley Bruce Arena buys a home? Federal Heights? Bluffdale? Tooele? :dancing:

I think it is pre-mature and I have been calling for his head since last year. I don't get it. Last fall it seemed like most folks were willing to write things off as "expansion team blues". Yet only a couple games into the season they're calling for his head.

What in those 3 - 5 games happened that changed their minds that hadn't already occured in the 32 games last year? Surely the reasoning isn't as simple as a few more games without a win.

If I'm Uncle Dave I don't fire him, I make Pastorino do it.

How cool would that be?

But realistically speaking I can't see him settling for a MLS coaching position. My guess is that if he still can't get interest from an EPL team he'll sign a contract extension with the USMNT. I think the thing that would pull him away from the USMNT is to show that he can win consistantly not just on European soil, but in the top flight.

Its very simple. We're not willing to go through the same kind of season like we did last season. We held out that this season would be different but the jig is up, the news is out, they've finally found Ellinger...
